Community You-Pick & Open Garden Day

Stop by the farm during Community You-Pick and leave with a bounty of fresh veggies, flowers, and herbs of your choice. These family-friendly open garden hours are meant to welcome locals into the garden to do a little grocery shopping. Pick ingredients for your meals for the week from a selection of unique, heirloom, and delicious veggies, fresh herbs and edible flowers.

Picking your own means you’re getting the freshest, most local food and flowers possible. The garden is set up just like a big backyard kitchen garden with a little of everything delicious and beautiful.

Available for picking each week:

  • An assortment of heirloom veggies grown with no synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers.

  • Fresh culinary herbs to add flavor to your dishes, make sauces, dressings and more.

  • Cut flowers and greenery to make your own flower arrangements.

  • Edible flowers to use as beautiful, colorful garnish for any dish, cocktail, or dessert.

  • Medicinal herbs you can use to make your own herbal teas, tinctures, and oils. Please do your own research and talk with your health practitioner before ingesting medicinal herbs!

What is available in the garden to be picked changes each week, check the Creative Kitchen Garden Facebook or Instagram page, or sign up for email updates to see the most current list of what is available to be picked. EMAIL SIGN UP:  https://forms.gle/8fo395RBuBFGU1cW7

Availability of any specific thing is not guaranteed and everything is first come first served :)

TIPS:

🌻Make sure to bring a grocery bag or basket to bring your goodies home in!

🌻Bring a jar, container or vase to put your fresh flowers and herbs in to keep them happy.

Garden Tour & Workshop: All About Herbs

Garden Tour & Workshop: All About Herbs

We will explore the beginner’s guide to growing, harvesting, and using common herbs prized for their flavor and health-supporting properties: like thyme, lavender, chamomile, and mint.  We will pick ingredients and make a herbal tea and garden herb sea-salt blend together. Participants will go home with a jar of their own herby sea-salt blend and are welcome to pick a bunch of fresh herbs to take home.

Get inspired to incorporate more culinary and medicinal herbs into your garden and life! Kids are welcome!

About Workshops in the Creative Kitchen Garden:

Garden tours and workshops are an opportunity for folks to explore their curiosity for all things plants! They are highly hands-on and include a garden tour where participants are encouraged to touch, smell, taste and admire what’s currently blooming in the garden.

Each workshop has a special theme, and participants can expect to go home with corresponding goodies from the garden. These events are meant to be small groups where we can share our love and curiosity for all things nature and plants together.

Meet at the Creative Kitchen Garden at DaCy Meadow Farm (pull in the driveway at the sign and turn left, park in the marked area in the grass).

The suggested contribution is $20 per person (kids 12 and under free!) payable by cash, check or Venmo when you arrive to the farm. Please RSVP in advance by emailing Mary at marygodnick@gmail.com, or text/call 518-932-1622.
