Free You-Pick Veggies, Flowers & Herbs for Low-Income Families in Essex County

WIC & Pick is a program for low-income families in Essex County, NY to spend time on the farm and pick veggies, flowers and herbs at no cost.

In 2022 the Creative Kitchen Garden and Craigardan partnered with the Essex County WIC program to lead a pilot program that offered weekly educational, hands-on, and you-pick experiences to participating families. The program is funded by various grants from community organizations, and the Essex County Public Health team goes above and beyond to offer a safe, fun, educational experience that purposefully makes space for the needs of low-income families with young children living in the Adirondacks.
